2.  Activities in 2015:

 

Due to not being able finding new personnel, we were late in distributing gifts

to school children in Vietnam. 

Before the New Year Tết, Đỗ Quốc Thắng was able to assist us,

and after Tết, Lê Tiến Dũng, Phạm Anh Khoa, Nguyễn Khắc Trung and

the Mazda SaiGon group helped both in finance and labor to transfer gifts to

Mũi Né and Phan Rang.

         

We apologize for this late report.

         

Here are our efforts in 2015:

 

          - Built a small library at the Love School in Mũi Né: we bought a bookcase

            and a lot of books.

 

          - Gave gifts and 3 bicycles to orphans at Linh Sơn Pagoda (District 12)

            so that they can ride the bike to school instead of walking.

 

          - Distributed gifts to 184 of the poorest students (out of 600) at

            Văn Lâm Elementary School, Phan Rang.

 

            Transportation from Saigon to Phan Rang is difficult and challenging.

            Because of it, the Mazda SaiGon group was only able to get to the school

            on 25 March 2016.

  

The money donated in 2015 was $1,995 dollars from the US and $315 dollars from

the Mazda SaiGon Group in Vietnam. We bought gifts and distributed as follows:

 

          A.   $400 US dollars ($8,800,000 đồng VN) for Hope for Kids at Mũi Né:

                   -  $118 US dollars ($2,600,000 đồng VN) used to purchase a bookcase.

                   -  $282 US dollars ($5,436,000 đồng VN) used to purchase books.

 

          B.   $200 US dollars for orphans at Linh Sơn Pagoda, District 12:

                   - $120 US dollars used to purchase 3 bicycles.

                   - $80 US dollars used to purchase gifts.

 

          C.   $1670 US dollars  ($36,725,000 đồng VN) for 184 poor school children

                 at Văn Lâm Elementary, Phan Rang:

 

                   - $715 US dollars ($15,725,000 đồng VN) used to purchase school supplies.  

                   - $955 US dollars ($21,090,000 đồng VN) used to purchase foods.
